Tesla Window Tint & PPF in Antioch

Ceramic tint, paint protection film, ceramic coating and wraps for the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X, done at our Antioch shop.

A lot of glass and a lot of sun.

Teslas carry more glass than most cars. Between the side windows, the long rear glass and the glass roof, the cabin heats up fast once the East Bay sun gets going, and the air conditioning works hard to keep up.

Ceramic window film is built to block heat without needing to be dark, so you can keep the clean factory look and still take the edge off a hot afternoon. On the front windows, where California keeps you light, that matters most.

  • Ceramic tint on side and rear glass
  • Glass roof film for heat and glare
  • Windshield sun strip, kept to the legal top section
  • Paint protection film for the front end or the whole car
  • Ceramic coating, colour-change wraps and chrome delete

What we pay attention to on a Tesla

Frameless windows

The Model 3 and Model Y use frameless door glass, so the top edge of the window is on show every time a door opens. The film has to finish cleanly right at that edge.

Cameras and sensors

A windshield strip has to work around the camera housing at the top of the glass. We keep film clear of the areas the car needs to see through.

Paint that chips easily

The hood, bumper and mirrors take the most rock chips on any car, and Bay Area freeway miles add up fast. Paint protection film on the front end takes those hits instead of the paint.

Tesla tint and PPF questions

How dark can I tint my Tesla in California?

The front side windows have to let in at least 70% of light, counting the glass and film together. The rear side windows and back glass can be any shade as long as you have mirrors on both sides. The windshield can only have a strip across the top. See our California tint law guide for the details.

Is ceramic tint worth it on a Tesla?

If your goal is a cooler cabin, usually yes. Ceramic film is made to block more heat than basic film at the same shade, which is the whole point on the front windows where you cannot go dark.

Can you tint the glass roof?

Yes. Roof film cuts heat and glare coming through the top of the car. Tell us your model and we will go over the options for it.

Will tint affect my Tesla's cameras?

Side window film does not cover the cameras. On the windshield, the sun strip is cut to stay clear of the camera area at the top of the glass.

Should I get PPF or a ceramic coating?

They do different jobs. PPF is a physical layer that takes rock chips and scratches. A ceramic coating adds gloss and makes the car easier to wash, but it will not stop a chip. Many owners put PPF on the front end and coat the rest. Read more about paint protection film and ceramic coating.

Is Tintinc part of Tesla?

No. We are an independent tint and paint protection shop in Antioch and not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. We just work on a lot of Teslas.

Can you wrap or chrome delete a Tesla?

Yes. We do colour-change wraps, satin and gloss finishes, and chrome delete on trim. See vehicle wraps.
